At Matse Studio, our vision and mission are centered on creating detailed, hand-poured candles using premium-quality materials sourced from Australia, Japan, and Korea. They are designed to support a relaxing atmosphere with a touch of elegance.
Our long-term vision is to provide a calming and relaxing space where people can escape life’s stresses, have fun, and learn the art of candle making. Through our workshops, we teach relevant candle-making skills, allowing participants to create their own masterpieces to take home. We aim to build a supportive community that brings positive impacts to everyone involved.
We believe there is no right or wrong answer or a fixed formula for what one needs to do or achieve at each stage of life. Everyone faces different challenges, regardless of age or occupation. Matse Studio is a space for anyone seeking balance, relaxation, someone to talk to, or simply a fun experience.
Our approach involves delivering workshops with small class sizes to ensure everyone has fun and receives personal attention. At our workshops, participants can choose their own colours and fragrances. We use our knowledge and experience to guide them through making their own unique candles. We also collaborate with groups that support vulnerable communities and people with mental health challenges, making sure our efforts contribute to a greater good.
OUR STORY
Studying psychology at university was a pivotal experience that shaped Christy’s desire to make a positive impact in the world. Despite her academic focus, she always felt a yearning to explore new avenues that could bring about meaningful change.
One day, Christy had the opportunity to visit a friend’s studio. This friend had completed a qualified candle-making course in Korea and created a serene space dedicated to candle making. During her time there, Christy immersed herself in learning the theory behind different waxes and the art of candle making. The experience was transformative. Not only did she discover a newfound passion, but she also found solace and joy in the process. The studio became a sanctuary where she could escape from life’s stresses and find peace.
Inspired by these experiences, Christy embarked on a journey to deepen her knowledge and skills in candle making. She sought out opportunities to learn from experts in different places, eager to expand her expertise and create candles that would not only bring joy to others but also contribute to positive change.
For Christy, Matse Studio is more than just a business; it’s a platform to make a difference. By donating a portion of the profits to NGOs and creating candles that uplift spirits and provide moments of peace, she hopes to create a ripple effect of positivity. Her goal is to offer high-quality and unique candles, while also providing a space and method for people to reduce stress, find purpose, and experience peace. Through Matse Studio, Christy aims to share the skills she’s learned and create a community where people can come together to find solace and inspiration.
